Latin America – Mission Network Aim: To strengthen Christian emphasis in the YMCAs of Latin America. The Mission Network was set up in 2002 and so far, 11 Conferences in Colombia, Perú, Chile and Brasil with around 800 people attending. Members of the Latin American Mission Network are YMCAs of Peru, Chile, Colombia, Brasil and Uruguay The Mission Network also runs mission trips for young people, where they have gone to Munich, Prague and other cities and countries. European – Mission Network Aim – European YMCAs working together to encourage, equip, and discover new resources for their work in living out the Good News of Jesus Christ in their YMCAs. Unify Conferences began in 2012 The purpose of these conferences are: To create an opportunity for YMCA people (paid staff & volunteers) to express their Christian faith within the context of the YMCA Movement. To help European YMCAs to strengthen their Christian identity and explore the potential for a European YMCA Christian Mission Network. For participants to be resourced to more effectively serve Christ in your personal life and in the YMCA. For YMCA’s to be resourced and renewed with ideas and practical tools to help develop Christian emphasis work. USA – Mission Network Aim: To strengthen the “C” in the YMCA, mutual encouragement, Christian fellowship. The John1721 Conferences were first begun in 1998 and ran every two years until 2008. In 2008, the USA Mission Network began to have annual gatherings at the historic YMCA of Silver Bay on Lake George in New York. These annual gatherings brought together YMCA Mission Staff, Chaplains, volunteers and YMCA Pastors from across the U.S. to encourage, equip and share ideas around having a greater mission effectiveness and Christian witness in U.S. YMCAs.
