Movement Day – New York City
October 11-12, 2013

Movement Day is catalyzing leadership teams from America’s largest cities to serve their cities more effectively by advancing high-level, city-changing collaborative partnerships. Our Mission is to Cultivate Gospel Movements in Cities by:

  • Facilitating unity and collaboration amongst Christian leaders to address today’s urban issues;
  • Fostering an environment where City Networks are strengthened; and
  • Inspiring and challenging Catalytic Leaders to maximize their leadership potential

Wayne Meeks’s book, “The First Urban Christians” and Rodney Stark’s “The Rise of Christianity” convincingly argue that the secret of the Christian missionary movement through the early centuries was that the gospel first won the cities of the Roman Empire. The re-emergence of the “citystate” in the 21st century means that some global cities have more influence in other countries than do the capitals of those same countries.
